Foxtrot Tango ("FT", "the app") is a flight-tracking app for iOS, operated by an individual developer. This policy explains exactly what data the app handles, where it goes, and what never leaves your device. It is written to match what the app's code actually does — nothing more, nothing less.
What we collect and store
When you sign in and use the app, the following is stored in our database (hosted by Supabase):
Account basics — the email address, name, and profile photo URL provided by your sign-in provider (Google), plus the display name you choose in the app.
Your flights — flight numbers, dates, seats, booking references, and notes you add.
Your connections — who you've connected with, how the connection was made (contacts picker, email, or username), and per-flight shares you've explicitly created.
Private labels — emoji tags you put on connections. These are visible only to you; the database refuses to serve them to anyone else.
In-app alerts — the delay/gate-change notifications the app generates for your tracked flights.
Reports — if you report another user, we store your report so we can act on it.
What others can see about you
Sharing is never automatic and is enforced by the database, not just the app:
People you connect with see your display name, and — only if your privacy settings allow — your username, photo, and Altitude rank. One exception: when you share a flight with someone, they always see your username too, so invitations stay verifiable.
Nobody ever sees your email address, your other flights, or your stats. Notification texts fall back to "A traveler," never to your email.
Your flights are visible only to people you explicitly share each flight with, one flight and one person at a time, and they must accept.
Incognito mode makes you unfindable entirely.
Third-party services the app talks to
Supabase — our database, authentication, and server functions. All account and flight data above lives here.
AeroDataBox — flight schedules and live status. Requests go through our server; only flight numbers, dates, and airport codes are sent — never your identity.
Live aircraft-position network — powers Sky Radar and live tracking. When you open the radar, your device sends an area query (a bounding box around your approximate position) to fetch nearby aircraft. Your position is used only for that query and is not stored by us.
Open-Meteo — weather forecasts. Airport/destination coordinates (never your location) are sent to open-meteo.com.
adsbdb — aircraft/airline lookups by callsign on Sky Radar.
aviationweather.gov / FAA — airport weather and status, queried by airport code.
RainViewer — rain-radar map tiles, fetched by map area when you turn the rain layer on.
Apple Maps — maps inside the app are rendered by Apple's MapKit under Apple's privacy terms.
There are no ads, no analytics SDKs, and no trackers in the app. Each provider receives only the minimum the query requires (never your identity, except Supabase which hosts your account). We do not sell or share your data with anyone else.
Device permissions
Camera — used only to read the barcode on your boarding pass, on-device. Nothing is photographed or uploaded.
Contacts — the app opens the system contact picker only when you choose "add from contacts." Your address book is never uploaded; only the single email address you pick is sent to our server to look up that person.
Location — used to center Sky Radar on you. It is never stored on our servers.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account inside the app (Account → Delete account); this permanently erases your profile, flights, connections, shares, tags, alerts, and sign-in record. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
Children
Foxtrot Tango is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
Contact
Questions or requests: email foxtrottango.app@icloud.com. Account deletion does not require contacting anyone — it's built into the app (Account → Delete account).
Airline names, codes, and contact details
Foxtrot Tango identifies airlines by their names, IATA/ICAO codes, and simple color-coded monograms rendered in the app's own typeface. All airline names and trademarks are the property of their respective owners; Foxtrot Tango is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any airline. Any airline contact details shown are published on each airline's official website and provided for convenience only — confirm with the airline before relying on them.
